I am sad to say I never had a chance to meet my Aunt Rose. My name is Paulette and I am Frederica’s daughter. I was adopted as an infant.
I would have loved to hear family stories from Rose and I feel emotional having not had that opportunity. 
I have always longed to know more about my birth family and to feel connected to their and to my past.
If anyone would feel comfortable sharing these stories with me, that would be so wonderful
I live in Nelson, B.C, am 72 years old and a retired teacher. I apologize if this is an inappropriate way to try to connect with my birth family, but tonight I am feeling sad to read about Rose’s passing. 

My name is Jacqueline Hamilton and I was Rose aid 24 hours a day for 7 years.  Rose was a very smart woman who loved her family and was always worried about myself, her nephew Bobby, Jimmy, and Elizabeth and her neighbor Bob. Rose was always concerned with how everyone was doing including her friend Kate. It was my pleasure to provide services to Rose. I really do miss her she made me feel wanted she always told me that if I were to quit she wouldn't be the same and she always said that her nephew bobby is the reason why she keeps going. I love you so much rose and I will never forget you. You will always be in my heart and may god bless and protect you now that you have joined his kingdom.

Rose was a quiet, gentle loving presence to all.  As a librarian she anchored thousands of students and faculty of Somers High School over her thirty-year career.  Dick and I will remember her fondly.


Rose and I liked coffee and car rides and conversation. I am a very lucky person to have Rose for a friend. I am grateful for her life and all that I learned from her. Ralph Waldo Emerson said “ The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship, it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you, and is willing to trust you with a friendship.” Love always, Kay

My deepest condolences to Rose’s family.   Rose was an amazing woman and I always felt the HS library should have been named after her 53 years of dedication. She was a lady of true grace and I am grateful to have had her in my life.   The last time I visited her she was as sharp as ever, remembering many of the Somers staff and asked about our families.  She was a special lady, loved and respected by all.  May she Rest In Peace with those she loved who passed before her. 


Rose was our good neighbor for 25 years.  She sometimes fed our cat and always kept a sharp eye on  our house when we were away or at work.  Her 100th Birthday was very well attended, she never sat down just scooted around with Her walker constantly asking if we needed anything.  She became very close to her loving caretaker Jacky who was with her 24 hrs a day for her last seven years.
Rest In Peace Rose, you earned it!
