

Betty was born on March 16, 1932, the daughter of Ruth and Kenneth Scott. She earned her teaching license from Ball State University. A proud member of Beta Sigma Phi, Betty cherished the bonds of sisterhood. Her love for travel took her on many adventures, creating cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who shared those experiences with her.
In her youth, Betty embraced the values of the Girl Scouts, later becoming a dedicated scout leader. Betty also found solace and inspiration in attending church, where she cultivated a deep sense of faith and community.
Betty is survived by her children, Robert (Cindy) Hickey, Mary (Kostas) Panayotou, and Thomas (Debbie) Hickey; daughter-in-law, Nijole Hickey; step-children, Nathan, Jeffrey, and Dan Manlove; ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Hickey; second husband, Max Manlove; her parents; son, Michael Hickey; and brother, Johnny Jay Scott.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
