On December 24, 2025, Brenda “Maxine” Rednour passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, and joined her grandson, Terry Jr., in Heaven. Maxine was born on March 25, 1939, to Keen and Eliza Catron in Sunnybrook, Kentucky. She was the youngest of eleven children and was lovingly known as “the baby” of the family.
Maxine retired from the Ball Hospital Blood Bank after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed cooking large meals for her family and friends. She and her husband attended Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, and she also enjoyed visiting other churches whenever possible. Summers were often spent tending a large vegetable garden and canning hundreds of jars alongside her husband and daughter, Kathy.
Maxine married Lester “Don” Rednour on December 25, 1954, in Happytop, Kentucky. Together, they would have celebrated 71 years of marriage. They raised three children: Kathy Wright (Terry), Gary Rednour (Beth), and Sondra Spears (Charlie). Maxine loved her in-laws as if they were her own children.
She greatly cherished her five grandchildren: Terry Jr. (Andrea) Wright, Mandy (Mike Denney) Carrier, David (Debbie) Rednour, Amber (Adam) Raymer, and Austin (Miranda) Rednour. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Mason Carrier, Zach (Carly) Burton, Shane (Courtney) Raymer, Ryleigh Raymer, Ryan (Lucas) McMullins-Rednour, Davis Rednour, Landon and Braelynn Rednour; and three great-great-grandchildren: Lola and Mila Burton, and Addison Raymer. In addition, she had seven bonus grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband, Don; her children and grandchildren; her sister, Nettie Stroud; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her greatly
.
Services will be held at Elm Ridge Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2025. Visitation will be from 11-2, with funeral services to follow.
