She was born August 4, 1946, the daughter of Herman and Lizzie Clark. Catherine was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church. She took pride in operating her own beauty salon for many years. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with family and friends. Her optimism and laughter will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Velena (Brandon) Nowling; a son, Lonnie (Jane) Brewer; siblings, Betty and Roy; a grandchild, Anna Mae; and a granddog, Obie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Veldon Meade; her parents; and a sister and brother.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
