She found happiness in the everyday pleasures of life—shopping for the perfect find, planting flowers and watching them bloom, and spending peaceful days “porch sitting” in her rocking chair. She loved the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her comfort, and camping, where she enjoyed time outdoors with those she loved most. Her home was often filled with the aromas of home-cooked meals that she shared generously with family and friends.
A true animal lover, Connie had a special place in her heart for dogs and chickens alike, caring for them with the same tenderness she showed to everyone around her. She treasured her family and friendships deeply and was always ready with a listening ear, a helping hand, or a comforting presence.
Above all, Connie was devoted to her sons and her grandson. She was always there for them—offering unwavering support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her pride in her family was evident in everything she did.
Connie will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her love of life’s simple pleasures, and the way she made others feel at home in her presence. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Connie is survived by her sons, Derek (Lena) and Carter (Macayla) Smith; a grandson, Dawson Lee Smith; her mother, Janice Carter; brother, Joe (Cindy) Woody; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She is preceded in passing by her father, Bill Carter; her grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
