Denise Kay Reed

Denise Kay Reed, 53, Muncie, went home to be with Jesus early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017 with her beloved husband by her side. She was born January 31, 1964 in Muncie, the daughter of Don Verlon and Phyllis J. (Compton) Ratliff. Denise attended Muncie schools and married Lendol E. "Hunk" Reed in 1988. She was a homemaker and helped run her husband's roofing business for over 30 years. Denise enjoyed being outside in the summer, boating, fishing and working in her yard when she was able. No one ever left her home hungry or without a warm place to sleep.

Survivors include her husband, Lendol "Hunk" Reed; three beautiful children, Crystal Nicole Reed (friend Jimmy); Lendol E. Reed II (friend Samantha) and Kayla Jean (Reed) Campbell (husband Chris); grandchildren, Gus, Molly, Maggy, Maddy, Trip, Micha, Noah, little Chris and Abraham "Abe"; and her sister, Donna Lamp (husband Frank). Denise dearly loved her family with all of her heart and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis; her father, Don Ratliff; four brothers, Dick Ratliff, Danny Ratliff, Edward Ratliff and Darren Ratliff; one sister, Darlene Wright and Darlene's daughter, Krista Fay (Wright) Ullom.

Services will be held 12:00 P.M., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304 with Pastor Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
