

Dorothy “Dot” was born in Detroit, Michigan on Wednesday, September 27, 1933, daughter of the late Clayton D. Spangenberg Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Schmitz) Spangenberg.
She graduated as Registered Nurse from The New Rochelle School of Nursing class of 1954. She left nursing to raise her family and was a devoted wife and mother.
Dot was a long-time member of the Calvary Roseville United Methodist Church in East Orange, New Jersey.
She enjoyed Antique Collecting (collecting Christmas books and Teddy Bears) and had a long-time passion and true love of cats.
Her husband, Wesley who passed in 2017, preceded Dot in death.
She is survived by her son, Jon Anderson and wife Holly; daughters, Leigh Schenkelberg and husband Tom, and Jan Anderson; grandchildren, Zachary, Lindsay, Mahali, Evan and Christopher.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Elmcroft of Muncie and Heart to Heart Hospice for their love, care and compassion during our mother’s illness.
Family and friends will gather together at the mausoleum crypt side for a time to visit and share on Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park mausoleum.
In honor of Dorothy, memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1385 North Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46952.
