James Edward "Jim" Heath

Visitation will be held from 2 - 5 pm at Tabor Church, 10500 S CR 300 W, Muncie on Sunday, September 14, followed by a celebration of life at 5:00.

Jim was born in Salem Township on August 23, 1933, the 5th child of Raymond and Mary (Reynolds) Heath. On November 25, 1953, he married Beverly Jone Chandler, and they began a long, rich life together. She preceded him in death in August of 2020. They served their community and church for many years as founding members of Tabor Baptist Church. He coached church softball, then he and Jone became known as the Tabor Super Fans.

Jim is survived by son Mike Heath (Beth) of Fishers and their children and grandchildren; daughter Ginny Pulley (Brian) of Gibson City, Illinois and their children and grandchildren; and daughter Kari (John) Anderson of Yorktown and their children. He is survived by one sister, Ruthann Herkimer, and a sister-in-law Pat Heath, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Jone; his parents; in-laws Andy & Geneva Chandler; his siblings: Barb Watkins, Janet Munro, J.T. Heath, and Dan Heath and Jone’s sisters Sylvia Euthon and Audrey Writtenhouse.

The family wishes to thank IU Health Hospice who cared for Dad and our family in his final days, along with the staff at Muncie Estates who loved him well for the last few years.
