He was born October 8, 1963, in Monterey, Tennessee, the son of A.G. Padgett and Avo Todd. He moved to Indiana at the age of 12, and was a long-term resident of Muncie.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Van Padgett, John Padgett, Ethel Lester, Patricia Brosher, Sam Padgett, Millard Padgett, Mary Padgett, Roy Padgett, and Ruth Vaughn.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, A.G. and Avo Padgett; and siblings, Darlene Padgett, A.G. Padgett Jr., Don Padgett, Agnes Wooten, Ada Masters, Lee Padgett, Ella Padgett, Della Padgett, and R.T. Padgett.
Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.
