Joyce D. Harris

She was born Monday, June 27, 1938, in Stearns, Kentucky, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Reed) King, Sr. Joyce was a member of Westside Church; she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known as "Grandma Cookie". She worked at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for twenty-two years as a housekeeper, retiring in 2003.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Ryan Wilson, Alicia Wilson, Teena Wilson, Deanna Malone, Misty Strahan, Ashley Harris, and Michael Harris, Jr.; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; brothers, Denver King, Eugene King; step brother, Lendol Reed; sister, Lois Cross; step sister, Wanda Rhodes; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Harris; daughter, Lila Wilson; sons, Tony Harris, and Michael Harris, Sr.; sisters, Laura Wilson, and Shirley Winn; brothers, Alfred King, Jr., Hurstel King, and Robert King; and great-granddaughter, Journee.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call at the Elm Ridge Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday.
