Age 88 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday June 20, 2015 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Hamilton on May 10, 1927, the son of the late Wilmer and Metta (Bieman) Yaw. Bill was a Hamilton High graduate Class of 1945, a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of The Presbyterian Church. On October 22, 1948 he married Eva Riley and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2011. Bill was a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Hamilton Fire Dept. retiring in 1982 after 30 years of service. He also worked for PARR Emergency Products for 10 years following his retirement and was active as a Life member of the Lindenwald Kiwanis and the Retired Hamilton Firefighters Association. The City of Hamilton honored Bill for his years of service with the Fire Department and designated April 30, 2014 as Bill Yaw Day. He is survived by his three children, Scott (Susan) Yaw, Cindy (Kevin) Geurin and Jeff (Nita) Yaw; nine grandchildren, Jessica Yaw, Nick (Jessica) Yaw, Whitney (Mike) Beauchaine, Alex (Amanda) Spaulding, Drew Spaulding, Libby (Allen Spruance) Spaulding, Kendra (Tony) Beasley, Jared (Codee) Yaw and Rachel Yaw; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Kelcee, Kaylen, Brennan, Lexi, Brayden and Aubrey; many other family and friends. The family would also like to acknowledge his companion, Sandy McDaniel. Bill was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Brian and Brent Spaulding and his daughter-in-law Debra Kolibob Yaw.
