

Lois Mae Owens, 87, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by loved ones after waging a valiant struggle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Lois’ faith and love of God was very important to her, she enjoyed spending her Sundays listening to gospel music.
She was born in Saratoga on Tuesday, May 11, 1935, the daughter of the late Marion and Mildred (Almonrode) King. Lois graduated from McKinley High School in 1954. She married the love of her life, Johnnie Owens, on February 2, 1963 and they shared fifty-six years together before Johnnie’s passing in 2019. Lois was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Jerry (Lynn) Strong, Okeechobee, Florida, Lisa (David) Jennings, Winchester, Indiana and Kimberly Owens, Noblesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Jody (Brian) Biser, Jerry Strong Jr., Tristan Owens Bragg, Hayden Owens Bragg, Alexander Jennings, and Ashley Jennings; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, Johnnie Owens; parents; siblings, Edith King, Ardith Wiist, Don King, Donna Cortner, Dean King, her twin sister Leah King, and Dale King.
Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Towne Square Community Centre, 123 West Franklin Street, Winchester, Indiana 47394.
Services will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Lois’ family would like to express their gratitude for the caring and thoughtful medical assistance she received during her last months in Winchester.
