Melinda J. Hines

Melinda J. Hines, 69, Muncie, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 15, 2022, at her home. She was born on Friday, December 5, 1952, in Muncie, the daughter of John and Flossie Mae (Burchfield) Hines. Melinda loved spending time with her family. Melinda enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks, and enjoying nature. She was an active member of the Good News Baptist Church. Melinda had also taught Sunday school at the Nazarene Church in Farmland. She graduated from Ivy Tech as a CNA, (Certified Nursing Assistant) and retired from IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital as a Unit Secretary. Survivors include her sons, John (fiancé, Kimberly) Walker, Robert (wife, Awona) Walker, and William (wife, Belinda) Walker; sister, Karen (husband, Danny) Hiatt; grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Tiara, Matthew, Junior, Dylan, Nathan, and Brandi; great grandchildren, Oliver, Magnolia, and Landon; daughter-in-law, Loretta Walker; and her feline companion, “Little Bit”. Her parents, John and Flossie Hines; daughter, Lori Rodgers; and her companion L C Willis preceded her in death . Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
