Richard Dale Andrews

He was born on April 4, 1923, the son of William and Jessie Andrews. He graduated from Ball State University and was a member of the Navajo fraternity. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked for thirty-three years as an engineer at Delco Remy. Every year Richard looked forward to decorating loved ones headstones at local cemeteries, which kickstarted his gardening for the year. More than anything, Richard loved to spend time with his family.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Jane (Henry Clyde) Tucker and Joan Andrews; sister, Sue (Bob) Thomas; grandchildren, Kristen (Mitch) Upchurch, Jennifer (Lee) Miller, and Amanda Cloud; great-grandchildren, Stacy Brian (Krista) Vaughn, Bradley C. Cloud, Weston Vaughn, and Samuel Mattingly; great-great grandchild, Addison Olivia Vaughn; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in passing by his loving wife, Mary Andrews; his parents; and several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
