A graduate of Muncie Central High School, Robert went on to work for Rock-Tenn for many years. He was an avid music fan and especially enjoyed listening to The Beatles. He also loved to play his guitar and would play it everywhere he went. When he wasn’t listening to music or playing his guitar, you could catch him on his bike riding around Muncie, or hanging out at the reservoir.
He is survived by his children, Jayleen Rivera and Shawn Slaven; 7 grandchildren; and a sister, Glenda Silvey.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Francis Slaven and Neva Slaven-Garrett; and 4 siblings, Clarence, James, Charles and Mary.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
