Romona E. Reed

Romona Reed,93, of Muncie, passed away December 16, 2025 at Muncie Estates Senior Living. She was born June 18, 1932, in Muncie, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy Meadows. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished grandmother whose presence brought warmth and joy to every room.

One of her greatest pleasures was dancing with her late husband, Larry, a joy that reflected the deep love and partnership they shared throughout their lives. She also enjoyed a little excitement and never shied away from a chance to play the slots.

Family meant everything to her. She treasured time with her grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and proudly cheering them on. Family dinners were especially important to her, where stories were shared, bonds were strengthened, and everyone felt welcome at her table.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, offering guidance, patience, and unconditional love. She had a special fondness for card games and took great pride in teaching her children how to play, creating traditions that will live on through generations.

Romona is survived by her children, Ann Hubbard and Joe (Donna) Shinnock; grandchildren, Heather Warrell, Daniel (Kim) Dobbs and Kissiah Shinnock; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Warrell.

She was preceded in passing by her husband of over 52 years, Larry Reed; her son, Donald Shinnock; and her parents.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at Elm Ridge. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
