

Ronnie was born on February 9, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late O. Ronald and Sarah Louise (Sexton) Terry. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Connie R. (Sewell) Terry, in 2023.
A 1967 graduate of Monroe Central High School, Ronnie excelled in track before being drafted into the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served his country from 1969 to 1971, earning an honorable discharge as an E4 Corporal. He later pursued higher education, earning his Master’s Degree from Ball State University.
Ronnie was a longtime member of Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church and spent over 25 years employed at Borg Warner in Muncie.
Sports were a passion throughout his life. Ronnie played and coached softball for many years, competing nationally and leading teams in Women’s Softball, Coed League, and Industrial Leagues. An avid New York Yankees fan, he also enjoyed golf and playing cards.
Above all, Ronnie cherished his family. He was a beloved father figure and great uncle, always present at his nieces’ and nephews’ sporting events—coaching, teaching, and cheering them on with pride. His unwavering love and support will be dearly missed.
Ronnie is survived by his siblings: Patricia (Mike) Baker of Muncie, Donald W. Terry of Yorktown, Diane (Ray) Ditzenberger of Columbia, TN, and Teresa (William) Phipps of Yorktown. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Wendy Leigh Winkle (Yorktown), Gregory (Holly) Terry (Cowan), Amy (Bruce) Mahoney (St. Petersburg, FL), Christy (Aaron) Wimmer (Yorktown), Kimberly Darling (Muncie), Jason Conklin (Muncie), Dustin (Amber) Moody (Yorktown), Devan (Joshua) Baker (Muncie), Dylan Burke (Indianapolis), and Mackenzie Lipscomb (Yorktown), along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Little Red Door, St. Vincent’s of Anderson, Westminster Village, CenterWell Home Health, Southern Care Hospice, and his dedicated caregivers for the special love and care they provided to Ronnie.
Funeral services will be held at Elm Ridge Cemetery on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronnie’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
