Sharon Sue Shores

Sharon Sue Shores, 78, passed away on December 13, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 29, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana, to James A. and Ruth E. (Tomlinson) McCoy. Sharon was married to Larry D. Shores and he survives.

Sharon was a woman who found joy in the little rituals that made life beautiful. She loved doing her hair, nails, and makeup, always taking pride in expressing herself with care and style. To Sharon, getting ready was not just routine, it was a celebration of who she was.

Her heart belonged to animals, especially cats. Sharon had deep compassion for them and found comfort in their quiet companionship, often treating them as cherished family members.

Music filled Sharon’s life, with The Beatles, Elvis, and old-school country providing the soundtrack to many of her days. Whether it was a familiar melody playing softly or a favorite song bringing back memories, music was a constant source of happiness.

She had a special love for the holidays and delighted in decorating, turning her home into a place of warmth, color, and celebration. Halloween held a special place in Sharon’s heart—every year, without fail, she proudly dressed up as a witch, embracing the fun and magic of the season with a playful spirit.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Larry; stepchildren, Kathy Shores-Richardson and family, and Dennis Shores and family; grandson, Kyle (Nicole) Davis; and 5-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; daughter, Tammy Corbin; stepson, Randy Shores; sisters, Shirley Carr and Carmen Gibson; and brother, James Robert “Bob” McCoy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12 pm at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am until the time of the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
