Stanton “Stan” Gibson, 69, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, in his daughter’s Muncie home following an extended illness. He was born on Monday, April 14, 1952. Stan was raised in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Charles and Margret (Richey) Gibson. Stan graduated with a GED and later worked for Broderick’s as a machine operator for years prior to becoming disabled.
Stan had many hobbies including fishing and playing bingo with friends. Known for being a family man, Stan would often be found spending time with his grandchildren. With his willingness to help others, Stan was known for influencing many individuals with his family to be better people. Through his kind heart, he impacted the lives of even those who did not fully know him. Stan was recently saved as a child of Christ prior to passing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Gibson, (they were married October 28, 1977); five daughters; Sarah “Lou” Carnes (Tim Whitmire), April Reyerse (AJ), Chrystal Mills (Scott), Patty Neukam, Mary Crabtree; two sons, Stanton R. Gibson and Tyler Gibson; one sister, Penny Frank (Leo); one brother, Robert “Bob” Gibson; seventeen grandchildren; Ashlynn, Jackson, Jacob, Kaitlynn, Timmy Jr., Abby, RJ, Hailey, Nick, Connie, Paul, Anthony, Malachi, Lance, Mariah Locke (Jake), Kara Crabtree, along with several nieces and nephews.
His parents, Charles and Margaret Gibson; a brother, Steve Gibson; two grandchildren, Landon and Brock; and a brother-in-law, Fred, preceded him in death.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Hospice nurse, Ashely, for all of the dedication and love she has put forth into Stan’s care.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Elm Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum NORTH Chapel, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Elm Ridge Mausoleum NORTH Chapel.
