He was born on Wednesday, March 20, 1929, in Muncie, the son of the late Cecil and Edna (Hickey) Michael. He married Mary L. Miller on March 4, 1961, and they celebrated sixty-one years together.
A lifelong resident of Muncie, he faithfully attended Glad Tidings Church. Bill served in the Army during WWII where he received the Victory Medal. He played softball, tennis, golf, and bowled. He had a rare sense of humor, and you could never get anything over on him. He never got mad, but he would get even with the pranks. Bill was a family man and dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved to go to Chili’s, and spareribs were his favorite food.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sons, Robert (Debbie) Michael and Jerry Michael; brother, Robin Michael; sister, Sally Michael; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Edna Michael; a son, William D. Michael; and a daughter, Kimberly Hornbaker.
