I am so, so sorry Tess. I'm positive that God received your sweet mother with open arms. You shared an amazing and incredible journey together...you're a wonderful daughter. Just remember, "It's never goodbye, only....I'll be waiting for you." Prayers for comfort and peace to you and your family. 🙏🏻❤

I will always remember Lola Anita's super cheerful demeanor,  optimism and hearty laughter.  

And especially I have fond memories of when we were young kids in Las Piñas, she showed us how to make 'halayang ube' a Filipino delicacy which she made from scratch, from purple yams, a type of sweet root, and which took hours and hours to mix/fold/stir over a giant 'kawali' wok, slow cooked over old fashioned hot coals on a pit.  

Made only during special occasions, like on my Ninang's birthday, it was our Lola Anita's trademark dish. Stirring the 'ube' over many hours was tiring, because as the ube thickened, the stirring became harder. Especially in a tropical country where you can imagine was already hot, even made hotter cooking for hours on a giant fire pit. 

The experience taught me at an early age the value of timing, patience and of respecting  the process.  I remember Lola admonishing us kids when we tried to 'cheat' and stick our fingers in the wok trying to taste the sweet ube while it was still cooking.

We'll miss you Lola - hugs and condolences to the Aguilar, Moulder and Rillo families.

Hello everybody, my name is Ronald Joseph Aguilar Rillo 1 of 8 grandchildren of Anita Santos Aguilar

She was 94 and I've only known her for 30 years, she was one of the closest people to my heart. She touched my heart in a special way because of the person she was and the love that she radiated. She was special to many people especially to the Solid group and FAAT group, and she played an important role in shaping who I am. I'd like to talk about three important and special aspects of her. There's a lot to say about my grandmaw, Anita Santos Aguilar. She was a loyal family member, a hard worker, a genuine Veteran Hero volunteer, a devoted religious figure, and a beloved friend to many. She spent a great deal of her life working for her children with God, making people smile everytime she shows her talents to everybody, sharing her knowledge about life and volunteering with the church.

She was a blissful grandmaw with a strong personality and she had an awesome shar memory even at 94, she still able to dance, sing, give some green jokes between your conversation, recite a poem in front of you and many more. The third attribute I loved is that she always pushed me to be the best person I can be. Through the hardest times in my life. She believed in me and always helped me get back on track after I had fallen off the horse. She supported me mentally, physically, emotionally and financially over the years and I have her to thank for many things. She would always remind me of my strength, persistence and intelligence despite any barriers I faced.

My grandmaw Anita was an incredibly kind, strong, and wonderful person. I loved her for who she was and who she helped me to be, myself. The way my grandmaw lived her life has changed me, I aim to be as a humble, loving and discipline individual to others as she was to me. In this way, her spirit lives on through me, and dont you worry Dadudz Porfirio Carlos Rillo is always beside you.

If you want to know who is the best grandmother in the world, she would be ANITA SANTOS AGUILAR! 

Every time she visited us in the Philippines or we visited her here in the US, she would always cook us delicious food and take the opportunity to make up for our lost time. She would always remembers the full names of her grandbabies and says it repeatedly. I remember her randomly says witty and green jokes, our tickling moments, and endless laughs until our eyes get teared up. 

You are truly our inspiration and strength. Thank you for being a fighter throughout your life. I would really miss and treasure every moment with you. I LOVE YOU GRANDMA! You will always be in our hearts forever.

For anyone that knows me this woman has been a huge impact in my life and words cannot express how deeply we will miss this woman. My grandma was one of the sweetest souls you could meet. Friends would come over and never leave hungry. From cleaning fish as soon as you walked in the door or gardening from sun up to sun down. Watching New Channel 4 news in the morning will never be the same. Always waking me up to turn the TV to the right channel. I’d get upset at the time having to wake up early but I would do anything to be able to turn it on for her one more time 😢

I do find it so difficult to find words to deeply express my thoughts of great grief and sorrow with the demise of my beloved sister-in-law, Ate Anita. She left behind her with the ever-sweet memories - so naturally young and pure-at-heart, devoutly religious and with intense dedication to the family.  The greatest LEGACY she left was more than financial wealth but inevitably "the good character traits instinctively molded among the three offspring - TESS, ELENITA & REGIE who are known for their kindness, simplicity & humility which all contributed to their lifetime success. 

With my fervent prayers and mass offering, may you have eternal rest.  Your thoughts will linger forever.  God bless you.


She was always so kind to me and my family. She made the most delicious egg rolls! Our family would literally fight over the last one! We spent many times talking about her and how she spread so much love. Me and Jared would always be at the house and she never hesitate to make us food and make sure we were happy! This is a great loss but I know she’s in a better place and watching over us now. Love y’all

When I was a child I remembered ka Anita how generous to her 3 children one of them is my ninang elenita.. Ka Anita had a great voice, I heard her singing because my family love to sing also.. Ka Anita always smiled to everyone one.. She was an amazing woman person that everyone love.. Ka Anita say hello to my tatay mer.. In heaven.. You are both in God's hands.. Thank you for the memories ka Anita until then po..
