
Mrs. Claudine Gracius, age 72, died peacefully at on August 10th, 2014. After her a brief struggle with cancer. Claudine was born on December 8th, 1941, in Sainte-Suzanne, Northeast of Haiti. She was the first born daughter of Clorident and Florene Durand.
As the first born of her family, Claudine was a natural born leader. She was the first one to accept Christ as her savior. She later encouraged and prayed for her sisters to accept the Lord as their savior as well. She always had an admiration for fashion and style which led her to become a seamstress. While attending professional fashion school she met her husband to be.
Claudine and Richard were married in 1964. And moved to Cap-Haitian where they started working on their business and family. Five children were born from their union: Rito, Rony, Angelie, Edith and Rose-Claudine.
Mrs. Claudine had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the First Baptist of Cap-Haitien where she became a deaconess. Over the years, she became very involved with the church and assisted with numerous missionary activities throughout the many corners of Haiti. She also developed her personal food mission where every Sunday she will serve a group of less fortunate church member at her residence.
As a mother, Mrs. Claudine taught her five children about God love and abundance grace. She continuously read and meditates on the books of Proverbs, Psalms, and Ecclesiastes. She wanted them to understand and seek God’s wisdom in every aspect of their lives. Two of her many favorite Bible quotes were: “La crainte de L’Eternel est le commencement de la sagesse.’’ Proverbs 1:7 –‘’ Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true Knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.’’, “Tout est possible a celui qui croit.” Mark 9:23- “Everything is possible for one who believes.’’
Claudine is survived by her five children: Rito Gracius, Rony Gracius, Angelie G. Rodriguez, Edith Gracius, And Rose C. Gracius.
Son in Law: Joselito Rodriguez
Daughter in law: Keisha Natalie-Gracius.
Grand Children: Clarice Rodriguez, Sara Lynn Rodriguez, Enoch D. Rodriguez, and Gabrielle-Rose Gracius.
Sisters: Juliette Prosper, and Ketty Petit.
Brother In Law: Kercima Prosper and Wilof Jn Francois.
Nieces: Nardege Jn Francois, Lelene Jn Francois, Kerline Prosper, and Wannah Petit.
Nephews: Winel Jn Francois, Pierre-Mary Jn Francois, Ken Prosper, Keith Prosper, Jason Prosper, and Jessy Prosper.
Funeral services will be at Ten O'clock Saturday morning at First Church of the Nazarene on Woodland Street in Nashville.
