Greta K. Hale, age 93, of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday evening, December 10, 2014 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Mrs. Hale was born in Nurnberg, Germany to the late Jon and Anna Knetzger. She was preceded in death by her husband, SMSGT (Ret) James E. Hale; and sisters, Trudel Wabra and Traudel Strossner. Mrs. Hale is survived by her son and daughter in law, James and Linda Hale; granddaughters and their husbands, Wendy and Tim Shirey and Cindy and Brant Voss; and a great granddaughter, Holly Shirey. Mrs. Hale’s family will honor her life with a graveside service at One O’clock the afternoon of Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hale moved to the United States from Germany with her husband in 1947 and they settled in Smyrna in 1948. Mrs. Hale retired from the Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, where she was the nurse for Dr. Olin Williams. She was also a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
