James Parker, age 80, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, formerly a longtime resident of Lavergne, Tennessee, passed away on the evening of Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home. Mr. Parker was the son of the late Robert “Bobby” and Nellie Merritt Parker. He is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Terry Parker; daughter, Tracey Martin; granddaughter, Kayla Daniel and her husband Jordan; great grandson, Kai James Daniel; and sister, Louise Donahe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his son, Robert Parker and brother, Jack Parker.
A celebration of Mr. Parker’s life will be held on the morning of Monday, December 8, 2025, at Twelve O’clock noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with visitation beginning at Eleven O’clock.
Mr. Parker was a devoted, hardworking family man, who loved spending time with his family and being a proud business owner. But, not only did he work hard, he loved his “playtime toys”. He enjoyed time outdoors in the nature God created. His passions were fishing in his farm pond, his favorite quiet spot in the woods on his farm, riding four wheelers, spending time with family on his pontoon boat. He loved to go auctions and was a “secret foodie” with a knowledge of places to eat with his favorite foods. He was a former longtime member of Smyrna Church of Christ and current member of Woodbury Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
