John loved Jesus Christ with all his heart and was recently baptized in October of 2021. He was very excited about his baptism and wanted to make sure everyone knew how important it was to him. During his last days, he made it a point to tell one of his family members very excitedly over the phone “I love Jesus Christ!! And I was baptized!!”
Those who knew John can testify to the fact that he wore a constant smile, which paired well with his witty personality. He rarely missed the opportunity to crack a good joke. John loved to laugh and had the natural ability to deliver the perfect punch line when telling one of his many favorite stories.
Some of John’s hobbies included fishing, billiards, bicycle riding, and listening to music. He taught himself to play many instruments by ear, including the piano, guitar, coronet, and harmonica. One of his greatest joys in life was playing music while his children sang and played along.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at four o’clock in the afternoon, following a three o’clock visitation, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at New Vision Baptist Church, 1750 N Thompson Ln, Murfreesboro, TN, 37129. All are welcome!
