I met Kayla through her grandparents, Bill and Linda George.  And Kayla, HOW THEY LOVE YOU !! I heard so many wonderful things about you even before we met many years ago, and realized quickly how right they were.  So many have spoken of your beauty, your smile, your love of life.....and how true; but I was amazed that at your young age how you were so very smart and dedicated to doing a job well.  You, also,  were so faithful and dedicated to each one who had a part in your life...much to a fault sometimes, but you still stood beside many.  You wanted them to be THEIR best and wanted to share with them what you learned on your journey of life.  Even in the midst of things you were going thru, you wanted the best for others !! I remember on one occasion you stood in our driveway and shared your precious heart. You were maybe 22 years old at the time.  It was hard to realize one so young could be so mature in thought !! You came to faith in Christ at a young age,  and He never left you. When you made a re-commitment of that faith, you wanted others to be encouraged by that !!  You are living that faith out now in His presence; experiencing the joy and satisfaction of His true love. You have left your babies in the loving care of your family.  I know there will not be a day that goes by that they will not be reminded of you, but more than that, they will learn and be reminded of the love of God who will be there always for them!!

I wish I could hug everyone and make the pain go away! Kayla started many of my days with a simple smile that gifted peace and quality of life. No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart. She created her own sunshine and it showed. She was designed too.  

My heart is so heavy for the jackson/tanner family. 
Losing your childhood best friend is a hard loss. 
Between first jobs, first cars, boyfriends and endless sleepovers, a piece of your foundation is built. As kids, I always admired your beauty and strength. As an adult, I’ve always admired your beauty and strength. You were so strong and overcame every struggle life threw your way.  I’ve had the privilege of watching your life fall back into place so beautifully over the past few years. I was so proud of you and everything you had accomplished. 

My heart hurts for your momma, sister and sweet babies. Rest easy friend. I will always cherish our memories and the part of me you helped build. 

Kayla was an amazing person. I’ve had the privilege to have known her since we were young kids. She would be the one to talk to anyone  an everyone . Her bright smile light up the room wherever she walked in. I can’t imagine how her family is feeling at this time. My prayers go out to her family.  Especially her mother dad sister an children. I will continue to pray for each an everyone . 

Renee, Bill, Linda and family, we are praying for you all, and for Kayla’s children.  We know this is a very hard hurt.  We are praying for the comfort of God’s loving arms to circle your hearts, as you celebrTe her life.  We are unable to come to Kayla’s service, but want you to know our love is with you. What can I say...I think we were instant best friends when you started working at MidSouth Bank. We were always together from that point.  You would come to my house after work, on weekends, and I am pretty sure we lived at Mexican restaurants.  One of the funniest memories I have with you is the time you wanted to show me this huge pimple on your nose but when you got close to me it popped and squirted on my shirt. I of course screamed but we were at work and we both knew we were going to get in trouble. We came up with a quick fib that a spider crawled out from my keyboard to tell the manager.  We never had a dull moment.  You were such a good friend to me and would always tell me when my crown was on crooked☺️.  You will never be forgotten and will live on through your beautiful children.  

I’ve been sitting here trying to think of a favorite memory I have with Kayla and I’m literally flooded with so many that it’s overwhelming. Probably some of the most vivid memories are of us coming up with dances to so many songs for either us to just perform for our parents, or take video of, for talent shows...no matter what we were doing it for, we put our all into it and you were always so passionate about it. And that’s just a representation of how you were in life. There were so many times when you and I were holding each other crying and upset about school problems, family problems, stupid boy problems, just any problem that a normal kid/ teenager goes through and you were so passionate about being a good friend and being so comforting and so warm. And I feel that’s something that people noticed right away about you and why they were drawn to you. You were always there for your friends. And then there were times we were holding each other laughing uncontrollably for what I’m sure seemed like for no reason at all to other people. But we knew why and that’s all that mattered. So just the memories of us having a good time no matter what we were were doing, and also just knowing how much and often you were there for me and how that helped and molded me in my life is all I could ever ask for in a best friend. I was blessed to meet Kayla when she was pregnant with Addie, our precious great niece. I got to participate peripherally in her joy over her children through Angela, my sister in law and Addie’s grandmother (nonnie). 

What I remember from meeting Kayla was her beautiful smile! It lit her face and shone from her eyes! Her pride in her family, especially her beautiful children, was evident in the first moment I knew her.  

I do not posses the words to help you make sense of this or to bring you any peace, as those things are impossible right now. But I pray in time you will forget that Kayla died and remember that she lived. I pray that some day the memories will bring you joy instead of grief and pain. 

Kayla’s light will never fade but continue to shine through the lives of her children and those that knew and loved her. You are all in our hearts and prayers, may the Lord give you the strength you need to make it through the next couple of weeks and then the times to come.

I am sad that we never actually got to meet Kayla in person but I do know how extremely proud Renee was of her and Kristen. A momma's love is so sweet. Renee, you have been so faithful to your kids and grandkids through out the years and I know how fervently  you have prayed for them. I have so many hilarious youth group stories with Kayla. She was so chill and always down to earth and just an all around real person. We didn't keep in touch, but it sounds like she overcame a lot that many people don't. I will always think of her as such a strong spirit. You can see that her kids were and are very loved, and I am lifting them up in the name of Jesus that they will be healed and whole and know how cool their mom was. It doesn't make sense, but we serve a God who turns ashes into beauty, and he WILL do it for them. So much love to this family.

Had the pleasure of knowing and loving Kayla back when i was too young and dumb to realize what i had. Her smile and laugh would light up a room!  I always thought a lot of her and her sister Kristen. Even today, always thought of her as my “one that got away”. Rest easy sweet girl! 

Kayla was a great friend to me, the day my water broke with her oldest daughters half brother she stuck by my side the whole 9 hours of labor next to me in my room and even then waited outside the door for me to have him. Me and Cameron will deeply miss her and my sincere condolences to everyone in the family and for her sweet kids. 

We had many a fun times at MidSouth bank on Memorial Blvd.  Kayla could run the hell out of that drive thru!! She will be missed. Praying for yall in this time. 

Bill and Linda , so sorrow for your loss of Kayla .  She was a beautiful child and the apple of  Bill’s life. Praying for your family and her two children.

Knowing Kayla and having the opportunity to work alongside her was such a pleasure. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people I've ever met. All of us here at UniFirst are so sorry and will have Kayla's Family in our Prayers. 

It has been years since I have spoken to Kayla, Kristen, or anyone in the Tanner/Jackson family. But all of you were a huge part of my growing up. I moved to Nashville when I was 8 years old, terrified when of starting over. But then Kayla, Kristen, and Sarah parked their bikes in my front yard as my parents were unloading our lives. They became my friends just like that. We talked, we played, I was immediately invited to sleepovers, to the neighborhood parties. We made music videos and dances to silly raps we made up about summertime and flips flops. We played in the rain, and spent endless hours at the Poplar Grove pool. We chased ice cream trucks and went rolling down the hill at the school across the street. Every Sunday our families would walk to Sonic to get slushies and ice cream. You welcomed me into your home, your church, you brought me to Nana and Papa's. Kayla was the first person I considered an older sister (I'm an only). Kristen and I just wanted to be like Kayla so bad, I know we had to have annoyed the hell out of her on many occasions. but she still always made sure we were included. 

Kayla has been taken too soon. My prayers and my parents' prayers, Lisa & Brad, are with your family. We are so sorry and feel for your family Kristen, Ms. Renee, and Mr. Jim.

There are so many memories I have with Kayla from taking road trips, riding around singing at the top of our lungs, going to the lake and riding the jet ski, to having sleepovers and staying up all night, and there are so many more memories that I cherish so much! There was never a dull moment with Kayla and that is what I loved about her. She helped make me who I am today! I love you Kayla. You are going to be missed so much!

Spending practically our whole childhood wishing Kristen and I were our older sisters, riding around town stealing the songs they listened too, going to the lake, having sleep overs all the time, trying to hangout with them and their friends every chance we got. When Kylieanne was born and thinking of her as our own little baby born doll. And thousands more 😢❤️

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and season.  Praying for Kayla's sweet children, as well.  She had gone through so much and overcame many obstacles.  She was a beautiful young woman with a huge heart!  Praying that Jesus wraps his arms around your entire family, as you try to make sense of this awful tragedy.  Love you guys!  <3

In 2006,me,  Kayla, Kristen, Renee, and Jim along with some other people from our church, took a trip to Iowa for a mission trip. I never thought in a million years that she would have my niece 12 years later. I’m definitely going to find the CD of the pictures from our trip. I have it at my grandparents house. I love you Kayla. I miss you so much already.
