Watt Richard “Dick” Bell, 88, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at his home. He joined the U.S Marine Corp in 1950 with a tour in Korea. Graduate of MTSU. In 1956, Dick joined NASA. He worked as an aerospace engineer working on the Redstone Rocket, Gemini, Mercury, Apollo, Skylab and Shuttle programs. He retired in 1994 and remained in Huntsville. Dick was a loving father, and everyone loved and admired him.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Alexander and Emma McKnight Bell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Richard Brian (Pam) Bell, and Barry Bell; grandchildren, Suidayna (Joe) Williams, Sheena Burton, and Amanda (Wesley) Ponder; and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at Roselawn Funeral Home located at 5350 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery located at 519 Greenland Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
