George Martin Nefores Sr. aged 96, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024, in the city of Temecula, California. He was born on February 28,1928, in Pennsylvania, to Spiros and Mathilda Nefores. He was a former resident of Monroe, CT., Leesburg FL., Valley Center CA, and most recently Temecula CA. George was a graduate of Duquesne University. George met his wife Jewell Douglas in Pennsylvania while both were attending a wedding and were subsequently married on June 13, 1953. George served in the US Army as a captain and was a Korean War veteran. He was employed for 33 years by Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut, ultimately becoming a Senior Vice President of Marketing and Proposals. George travelled extensively for Sikorsky presenting the benefits of Sikorsky helicopters to various countries and businesses. He was also a dean at Bridgeport Engineering Institute in Connecticut for several years. He was a parishioner of various Catholic Parishes depending on where he was living and served with the Knights of Columbus.

After George retired, he and Jewell travelled around the United States for 5 years settling in Leesburg Florida. He enjoyed golfing, boating and baking cake pops. In 2021/2022 he was fortunate to participate in an Honor Flight to the Korean War memorial in Washington DC.

He was predeceased by his brother Jack, 2 sisters: Kay and Estelle, his son George Martin Nefores Jr., and daughter Lisa Bauer.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jewell; his daughters: Michele McMillan, Jewell Kulas, sons: David Nefores, Timothy Nefores, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Military Honor services were held on October 31, 2024, at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
