Harry Byrd III

Harry Byrd III was born January 24, 1954 to Dorothy McDowell and Harry Byrd Jr. in Detroit, MI. His parents moved to California in 1955 where they landed in Colton before settling in San Bernardino. Harry attended school in San Bernardino at Rio Vista Elementary, Martin Luther King Junior High, Cajon and San Bernardino High School. He joined jobcorp in 1972 where he learned to be an auto mechanic. He received an Associate’s Degree in Engineering from Tacoma Bates College and Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Ottawa University in 2005. He went on to be a substance abuse counselor.

He moved to Arizona where he met Johnette at work in 2004 and the two married on August 20, 2009. He fathered 4 children Marquis, Marquisha, and Jade and 1 whom preceded him in death Harry Byrd IV. Having a zest for life he was constantly on the move. Harry lived up and down the California Coast and in the state of Arizona throughout his life ultimately settling down in Murrieta, CA with his wife and daughter Jade. He was a character who always knew how to bring a smile to every person in the room, while also offering a shoulder and a hug that could cure even the deepest blues. A man of many words known to uplift the world or strike fear in someone who dared to disrupt his peace. He is and will always be cherished by all who encountered him.

On October 13, 2024 Harry peacefully transitioned to an Angel. He leaves behind his wife Johnette Byrd and daughter Jade Byrd of Murrieta, CA, son Marquis Byrd of Modesto, CA, daughter Marquisha Byrd, Mother Dorothy McDowell, sisters Sandria, Pamela and Velma all of San Bernadino, CA. Grandchildren Harry V, Dejshalyne, Aleiyah, Kailynah, Posende, Jayden, and Mila, great granddaughter Ava and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Son Harry Byrd IV, Father Harry Byrd Jr. Brother Victor Byrd, Sister Patricia Byrd.
