

A funeral for Betty Virginia Rosecrans, age 72, will be held Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Betty passed away on March 9 in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born October 19, 1937 in Century, Florida, the daughter of Bruce Wallace Senior and Dora Ella Hurrey Mayo. She was born the youngest of seven brothers and sisters. Betty married Harold Robert Rosecrans in 1958 and had one daughter, Beth. One of their great accomplishments was creating and sustaining their company, The Rosecrans Corporation. Bob and Betty lived in Houston but loved visiting their lake house on Toledo Bend. When Bob passed away in 1999, Betty then moved to Nacogdoches to be closer to her grandchildren. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, Texas. Following a battle with Alzheimer's, she moved to Magnolia Court, an assisted living facility. Betty is survived by two of her sisters, Claire Westmark and brother-in-law, Edward, of Pensacola, Florida, and Margaret Bryan and brother-in-law, W.A., of Century, Florida. She is also survived by her daughter, Beth Singleton and son-in-law, Allen, of Woden, Texas and two granddaughters, Paige and Charlotte Singleton. Betty was devoted to her family and a true Christian lady. Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2242 West Holcombe, Houston, Texas 77030. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Funeral Home.
