

Brooksie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her beautiful spirit and kind heart.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 8, 2016 in the Sunset Chapel of Cason Monk-Metcalf in Nacogdoches with Pastor Paul Sevar of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 pm. Music will be provided by Denver Glass and Mary Fallin Chance. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, following the service. Grandsons, Denver Glass, Michael Scoggins, Cliff Sunda, Andrew May, and nephews, Bryan Parker and Brandon Parker will serve as Pall Bearers.
Brooksie Lee Parker was born in Tenaha, Texas, on May 25, 1941, to Thomas Brooks Parker and Joyce Jean McFadden Parker, both predeceased. She grew up in the Lufkin area where she met the love of her life, Loy Scoggins, who survives her. They were childhood sweethearts and have celebrated 58 years of marriage. She leaves behind four children; three sons and a daughter. Milton Scoggins and wife Beth; David Scoggins; Mark Scoggins; Sarah Scoggins Glass and husband Kenny. She was blessed by five grandchildren, Denver Glass and wife Kristen, Kennedy Scoggins May and husband Andrew, Laura Glass Sunda and husband Cliff, Rachel Jean Glass, predeceased, and Michael Loy Scoggins. She also had three great grandchildren, Parker James May, Mallori Ann Sunda, and Preston John May and was looking forward to the birth of Ruby Jean Glass and baby Sunda. She is survived by one brother, Tom Parker and wife Vickie, sons, Bryan Parker and wife Holly, Kyle Parker and Brandon Parker. She will be loved and missed by her family, as well as many other cousins and close friends.
Throughout her life, Brooksie was known first and foremost for her culinary talents and domestic engineering. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed blessing others with a delicious meal or desert. She liked decorating and kept an immaculate house, but knew just how to make it warm and inviting. She enjoyed hosting guests for dinner and having bible studies in her home
