Debra Lavelle (Shue) Pierce of Mount Enterprise passed away Sunday, March 17, 2019, at her home at the age of 67. She was born September 26, 1951, in Dallas to parents Raymond Lavelle Shue and Mary Maxine (Killingsworth) Shue.
A graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Debra spent her life in service to others. She volunteered much of her time to helping children through coaching. She also ran a teen center in Newton to keep kids off of the streets. She married her husband, Bobby Lewis Pierce, on July 1, 1970. Some of her hobbies were fishing, camping, sports, and playing guitar and drums.
Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jimmie A. and Erma Mae Shue; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Georgia Killingsworth; and mother, Mary Maxine Killingsworth Shue.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bobby Pierce; father, Raymond Lavelle Shue; daughters, Tracy Lavelle Pierce Westbrook and husband Tabor and Stacy Renee Pierce Westbrook and husband Clay; granddaughter, Dru Mary-Lavelle Westbrook; grandson, John Brice Westbrook; granddaughter, Dannah Kelli Westbrook-Stallone and husband Joseph Anthony; and brothers, Charles David Shue and wife Nancy and Randal Dean Shue.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Bro. Jason Fortenberry. Interment will follow at Helpenstell Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Debra’s name to The Boys and Girls Club of Deep East Texas, 2712 Park St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961 or to Sky Ranch, 7616 LBJ Freeway, Suite 500, Dallas, Texas 75251.
