

She and her husband used to plant a large vegetable garden. Dotsy enjoyed quilting, cooking…and was one of the best! She loved all kinds of animals – Wild squirrels even used to take food from her hand. She and Roy enjoyed going to garage sales. Dotsy never met a stranger. Always very welcoming and ready to feed family members, friends, and insurance agents, funeral home directors, etc. who came by. She also loved to mow.
Dotsy is survived by nephews: Wayne Triana, Sr. and wife Susan; Dennis Battles, and Ricky Battles and wife Beverly; niece, Gayla Joyner and husband Tony; and numerous other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces.; dear friend, Sally Hess as well as other good friends and neighbors.
Preceded in death by husband, Roy E. Johnson; Son, Roy Lynn Johnson; Daughter, Vicki Johnson; Sisters, Pirlean Triana, Joy Dean Till.
We want to thank the nurses and staff at the following facilities who provided exceptional care for our aunt: Magnolia Court, Harbor Hospice, Westward Trails Nursing Home (respite care) and Garrison Nursing Home.
Special thanks to the following individuals at Harbor Hospice who provided excellent and loving care for our Aunt Dotsy (and support for our family) for so many months: Chaplain Darrell Conner, Brittany Wallace, Lori Murphree, and Pearlia King.
A visitation for Dotsy will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:30 PM at Alazan Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.
