Jeanette was the epitome of a Southern Lady, especially to her family, friends, and her students. Jeanette taught Fredonia Hill Baptist Academy 3rd graders and kindergarteners. Former students would often light up when they saw her and give her big hugs when they met. She enjoyed being involved in community activities that promote studying and preserving local history. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Literati Study Club, and she loved to read about history, the old south and England. She and her friends participated in volunteer research that studied and preserved Nacogdoches Court Records from the beginning of the Republic of Texas. Even though she retired from teaching, she never stopped educating and enlightening herself and her grandchildren. Her main focus for 21 years was her grandchildren, and she took joy in everything they did. Jeanette appreciated and welcomed spring and could name each flower that bloomed and each bird that she saw. She was affectionately known as “Honey” to her children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Magnolia Court, John Rosco of Crown Home Health, her family of friends at DCI, Amy Stiller, and Lauri Lee for the excellent care they provided to Jeanette. Memorial donations may be offered to First Baptist Church, 411 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas, 75961.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, 75965. Online condolences may be offered to www.casonmonkmetcalf.com
