George was a devoted family man. He married the love of his life, Charlotte, on July 7, 1975. He always tried to help people whenever he could, especially kids. He was a kind-hearted, giving man that was all about his country and God.
An avid sports fan, he never missed any of his children or grandchildren’s events. Some of his favorite sports were golf, baseball, football, and basketball. He enjoyed farming and gardening. George also helped with the youth livestock shows. He was even given an honorary FFA degree from Central Heights ISD.
Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his father, M.H. Perry; sisters, Robin Wilkerson and Virginia Perry; brother, Allen Perry; and brothers-in-law, Steve Whitton and Don Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlotte Perry; son, George Perry and wife Liz; daughter, Chasity Denny and husband Curtis; mother, Pearl Sidney Perry; sister-in-law, Mickey Perry; brother, John Mark Perry; sisters, Jo Ann Whitton and Tammy Parker; grandchildren, Alexis Perry, Jaxson Perry, Beaux Perry, and Morgan Denny; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Bro. Sonny Scarborough. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Ramsey, Lyle Sieffert, Alvis Barrett, Gregory Perry, Jimmy Wilkerson, Jr., and Eddie Edds.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Affinity Hospice and Encompass Home Health for their excellent care for George.
