

A longtime resident of Nacogdoches County, Texas, he was born July 11, 1934, in Mount Enterprise, Texas, to parents Novel Washington Matlock and Edna Ruth Corder Matlock. Glenn was married to Faye Alexander on June 21, 1957.
Bro. Matlock was a longtime minister, having served in the ministry for 62 years. He had served as pastor of Union Springs Baptist Church on Hwy. 259 for the past several years and had also served other churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Matlock.
His survivors include his wife of more than 57 years, Faye Matlock of Nacogdoches, Texas; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Matlock of Nacogdoches, Texas; son, John Matlock and wife Sandy of Joliet, Montana; daughter, Rachel Matlock Foley and husband Don of Levittown, Pensylvania; grandchildren, Naomi Varilek of Billings, Montana, Cheyenne Watts of Gilbert, Arizona, Paul Matlock of Nacogdoches, Texas, Rebecca Matlock of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Andrew Foley of Levittown, Pennsylvania; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Jeremy, Jonah, Coby, and Jude; and two brothers, Travis Matlock and wife Nira of Lufkin, Texas, and Stephen Matlock and wife Carol of Gladewater, Texas.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment will follow at Isabell Chapel Cemetery, located on County Road 3271 in Rusk County, Texas. Officiating will be Bro. Wayne Dartez, pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, assisted by Bro. Jeff Flenniken and Bro. Ron Lovins.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Pallbearers: Paul Matlock, Andrew Foley, Don Foley, Eric Sullivan, Terry Ady, and Perry Morehead. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Union Springs Baptist Church.
