

Mr. Moore passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, in Nacogdoches. He was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Texarkana, Texas, as a son of the late Lyda Ethel (Ford) and James Thomas Moore Sr.
He attended Southern Methodist University where he played football and left SMU shortly after Pearl Harbor to join the U.S. Navy. At the end of World War II and when discharged from the Navy he operated a Conoco Oil bulk station in Jasper, Texas, and then worked at Humble Oil Refinery in Baytown for 14 years. Later he owned and operated a restaurant specializing in steak and seafood. He retired in the 1970s and moved to Nacogdoches. He was a member of Berachah Church congregation for 30 years.
He is survived by his sister, Pauline Pool of Lufkin; son, James T. Moore III of Lufkin; daughter, Patricia Ann Moore Barclay of Missouri City, Texas; grandchildren, Tricia Lynn Barclay Rivera of Missouri City and Andrea Claire Barclay Pitre of Sugar Land; and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Kay Rivera of Missouri City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgette Wright Moore, in 2003; his parents; a brother, Lonnie B. Moore; and a sister, Evalena Moore.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.
