Joel M Weatherly

Joel McCoy Weatherly, 78, of Nacogdoches passed away, February 5, 2021 in Nacogdoches. He was born on June 21, 1942 to French Weatherly and Cumile Moody Weatherly. He served his county in the Air Force and retired from TXU Electric.

Joel was a loving grandfather and enjoyed farming and ranching. He was a proud member of AA for many years.

He is survived by daughter, Tammy Guernsey; one biological daughter; grandchildren, Ryan Jones of Houston, Kacy Jones of Houston, Kaytlin Arrington and husband Ryan of Montgomery, Peyton Allen and wife Jenny of Katy, and 4 biological grandchildren; great grandchildren, Walker Lee Jones, Jeremiah Lee Jones, Alivia Annette Jones, Lincoln Joseph Michael Arrington and Grant McCoy Arrington (on the way); sisters, Janie Weatherly and Nell Lee; several nieces, nephews, friends and all of his wonderful AA family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Barbara Ann Matlock Weatherly; daughters, Donna Jean Weatherly and Kimber Annette Perkins Jones; brother, Hugh Parker Weatherly.

The family will receive friends, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, February 8, 2021, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held, 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Isabell Chapel Cemetery. A reception will take place at the AA Building, 1901 North Stallings Drive, Building G, around the back on the left, following the graveside.

Pallbearers will be: Dave Price, Greg Langley, Shawn Williams, Mark McMillan, Frank Phelan, Russell Braziel and Jerry Stell; Honorary pallbearers, Elmo Cambell, Jodie Carter, Jean Harding, Sheril Montgomery and Scott Weatherly.
