

Jack was born April 11, 1937, in Vernal, Utah, to parents Nile Grant Hardy and Hazel Dell Abplanalp. In 1955, he joined the United States Navy and he proudly served our country for 4 years. He was an iron worker in the Navy. In 1960, he married Neita Campbell and later divorced. He then married Jo Ann Johnson in 1967 in Vernal, Utah who survives him. He became a salesman for a drilling bit company and worked in the oilfield and real estate industry. He had a great passion for guns, hunting, fishing, horses, boats, and grandchildren. Whatever he was doing at the moment, he was totally devoted to it. In 1980, he won the State Amateur Trap Shooting Award in Salt Lake, Utah. He had grand times and wonderful memories of friends as they gathered during deer season at Diamond Mountain in the Uintah Range. Jack was lovingly called "Papa" by all of his grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; and his son, Danny J. Hardy.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Hardy; three children, Shannon Moody and husband Doug of Colorado, David Hardy and his wife Tricia of Virginia, and Jacky Hardy and Glynis Moody of Maryland; grandchildren, Michael, Skyler, Misty, Madeline, Isabella, and Annalise; sister, Nila Jean Riding of Nacogdoches; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank "special friend" Jana and the team of Hearts Way Hospice for the loving care they gave Jack. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Hearts Way Hospice, 437 W. Panola, Carthage, Texas, 75963.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
