

John was born April 30, 1954, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to John and Glenny Sitton. He graduated in 1972, from O.D. Wyatt High School in Ft. Worth and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy.
Watersports and sailing were his first loves but he was equally content to just sit and fish. He was an avid surfer, skier and cyclist. John was a well-known musician in Nacogdoches. He was a regular at The Pine Knot performing his original tunes under the stage name “Sneaky Pete.” Over the years his love for cats inspired him to rescue dozens of homeless cats. He worked as a night watchman for Lone Star Feed in Nacogdoches for many years. John was also a longtime AA member.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenny Sitton and his cousin Tom Sitton.
John is survived by his father, John A. Sitton Jr. of Pasadena, Texas; sister, Linda Louis of Addison, Texas; 3 nephews; 4 great nieces; 9 cousins and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside services are set for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Rock Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Linda Louis officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
