

Mr. Bridges was born August 10, 1930, in Jasper, Texas, and was a former resident of San Augustine County, Texas. He had lived in Nacogdoches, Texas, for a number of years. He retired as director of food services at Nacogdoches Medical Center with 17 years of service. Among his specialties was fresh baked rolls, rightfully earning him the nickname "Roll Man."
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bridges was a life member of Nacogdoches VFW Post #3893.
His survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Wanda "WD" Bridges; a son, Rick Bridges and wife Vanessa of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Cyndy Bridges Burdette of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Veta Miller and husband Stephen of Port Washington, Wisconsin; sisters, Pat LeBlanc of Vidor, Texas, Catherine Bridges of Lamarque, Texas, Sherry Kidder of Nederland, Texas, and Dorothy Anderson of Vidor, Texas; a brother, Joseph Bridges of Vidor, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Clarence Bridges Sr. and Ethel Jewel Parker Bridges; a daughter, Rita York; brothers, Leecoy Bridges, Carl Bridges, Clifton Bridges, and Leonard Bridges; sisters, Mildred Goodman, Betty Stephens, and Shirley Jean Bridges; and a great-granddaughter, Allie Verre' Froehlich.
Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf's Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Rev. Brian Tyre officiating. Interment will follow at Sowell Cemetery in the Norwood Community of San Augustine County, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Pallbearers will be Eddie McCarty Jr., Joseph Froehlich, Jeffery Burdette, Layne LeBlanc, Devan Houser, Andre' Castille, Carl A. Bridges, and William Castille.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches, Texas.
