

Les was born on November 19, 1942, to Ambrose and Ella Mae in Fulton, Illinois. He attended school at Lewiston High School. After high school, Les joined the Army and was soon deployed to Germany, Spain, and Vietnam. Following his stint in the military he began a career in truck driving. Through truck driving, Les met the love of his life, Liz, in the early ’70s and married her on October 18, 1978. From the time they met, they were inseparable. Les and Liz spent 27 years as team drivers driving trucks. Together they raised three children in Nacogdoches, TX.
Les was a husband, father, Papaw, a son, brother, uncle, and friend. Les was outgoing and friendly and was sure to never meet a stranger. He was always ready to lend an ear when you had a problem. Les loved to ride motorcycles and was even known to race dirt bikes. One of his favorite past times was to grow a large garden for everyone to work in so they could have canned vegetables year-round. He was an avid John Wayne fan. Les loved to watch western reruns and sports with his grandchildren. Les loved to share army stories and life advice. He often talked about his time in Germany and Spain. He loved aviation. Les was also known for always being up for a chocolate milkshake or a hot fudge sundae.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ambrose Corman; mother, Ella Mae (Shelabarger) Busby; wife, Liz Rudisill Corman; daughter, Cecilia Watkins; great-granddaughter, Malerie Corman; his brother, Gary; and stepsister, Deb Sheets. He is survived by his sister, Terry Briggs and husband Tom; sister, Sharon Ratcliff and husband Mike; sister, Julie Anderson; sister, Joyce Barnes; stepsister, Marsha Himmel and husband Lindy; stepsister, Nancy Gilson; stepsister, Pam Shaw; and stepbrother, Mike Busby. He is survived by his daughter, Betty McFadden and husband Barry; son in law, Tony Watkins, son, Aubery ‘Bubba’ Corman and wife Pam; grandsons, Samual Corman and wife Lacie Hill, Louie Corman and Savanna, T.J. Watkins and wife Ginny, Jason Watkins and wife Meagan, Brandon Corman and wife Alyssa; and granddaughters, Ashley Watkins, and Maelee Corman; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Curtiss, Katie-Rae Corman, Briley Watkins, Caiden Corman, Raylee Corman, Leslie Corman, Georgia Corman, and Ellie Mae Watkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His sisters state they will miss their phone conversation and his sweet voice. His children will miss spending time with their daddy. His grandchildren will always remember their summer trips crossing state lines in the truck. Everyone will miss hearing all his trucking stories.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2020, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by Deacon David Darby. The funeral service will be streamed live on Cason Monk-Metcalf's Facebook page for those who are unable to attend due to current health restrictions. Interment will be at Corman Family Cemetery.
