Marie Kerr

A funeral service is scheduled on Friday March 25 at 2:00 pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Ryan King officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Gary Adkinson, Ted Martindale, JR Martindale, BJ Abrego, Jimmy Crawford and Bryson Adkinson. Honorary pallbearers are Hank Curbow, Jacob Volker, Travis Slay and Robbie Pursley. All guests attending the funeral are welcome to wear something pink in honor of Mrs. Marie Kerr.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at Cason Monk Metcalf on Thursday, March 24 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Marie Neal Kerr was affectionately known as Marie or Mother to her friends and family. Marie studied at Tyler Jr. College. She was lovingly devoted to her husband and family. Marie had strong Christian foundations and was a Charter Member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. And loved to read her bible. Mrs. Kerr had a servant heart not only for her husband and family but her community as well. She was a past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, member of Texas Democratic Women, member of the Nacogdoches Genealogy Society. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and sewing. Marie loved to travel and enjoyed nine cruises to the Caribbean. Her friendly smile, nurturing heart and willingness to help will be greatly missed.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Earl Neal; husband, Albert Langston Kerr and daughter, Teresa Armstrong.

She is survived by her daughters, Rene Ship and husband Jim of Nacogdoches, Tx.; Janet Castillo and husband Saul of Willis; grandsons, Danny Hartman, Jason Ship, Jacob Ship; granddaughters, Sarabeth Ship, Kim Volker, Selina Pursley, Shara Castillo; great granddaughters, Lilia Pursley, Annabell Pursley, Chelsea Volker; great grandsons, Zhachory Volker, Jarrod Volker; great great granddaughter, Chloe Rose Castro; nephews, Kenneth Ureste, Corey Neal; niece, Karen Ureste; sister, Vera Jo Ureste; and brother, Jimmy Neal.

Memorial Contributions may be offered to Holly Springs Baptist Church.
