Mary Elizabeth Muckleroy Lampin was born on January 16, 1947, and on June 18, 1965, she married the love of her life, Lindon Lampin. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to family and others.
Mary was known for her caring heart and generous spirit. She filled many roles throughout her life, but the ones she treasured most were spoken of with love. Mama to her daughters, Nana to her beloved grandchildren, and Auntie or Aunt Mary to countless nieces and nephews, “Sister" to so many. She always welcomed her daughters' friends and often had extra children around, treating them as her own. Her compassion reached far beyond her family, as she consistently put others before herself and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
In her younger years, Mary spent countless hours in her sewing room, creating clothes, blankets, and special items for her daughters and later her grandchildren. Every stitch carried her love. She also had a special fondness for sports and, while she was able, played countless softball and volleyball games. Mary found great joy in tending her flower beds and just as much joy in directing others on how she envisioned them, a trait fondly remembered by those who knew her best. While her interests changed through the seasons of her life, her love for people never wavered.
Faith was the cornerstone of Mary's life. She loved the Lord deeply and was committed to raising a family grounded in faith. Her relationship with God shaped the way she lived, loved, and served others. Through her example, she taught the importance of prayer, compassion, and trusting the Lord in every season of life. Her faith was her foundation and remains a lasting gift to the generations she raised.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lindon Lampin; her parents, Guy Taylor Muckleroy Jr. and Mary Ellen Rogers Muckleroy; her daughter, Karen Lynn Lampin Chandler; and her brother, Luther Ray Muckleroy.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lampin Cox and husband Kevin, son-in-law Clark Chandler, her brother Charlie Muckleroy and wife Mildred; grandchildren, Kaylyn Chandler Moody and husband Brad, Landon Lowery and wife Karlie all of Nacogdoches, Madalyn Chandler Martin and husband Sam of Chireno, Kimberly Cox McCullough and husband Alex of Wyoming, and Daniel Cox and wife Nicole of Brownsboro; great-grandchildren Macy Moody, Gracie Moody, Brayden Moody, Kyndal Lowery, Averie Martin, Mackenzi Cox, and Colin Cox; numerous nieces and nephews; she is also survived by her beloved Aunt Novis.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the staff of The Arbor Assisted Living for the love and compassion they showed Mary during her time there.
