Matt was born July 6, 1979, in Nacogdoches, Texas and leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Kaye Yoder of Nacogdoches; father, Joe Hibbard of Chireno; sisters, Kim Williams of Nacogdoches and Nicole Lyon of San Jose, California; grandmother, Charlene Kraemer of Center; grandmother, Molly Barton of Center; grandfather, LD Hibbard of Chireno; and a loving group of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He grew up in Nacogdoches and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. From an early age he was fascinated with the sound and rumble of engines which led to his remarkable ability to break down any complex machine and build it back to perfection. This fascination went from Tonka trucks to lawn mowers and led to his love of motorcycles and flying through the air in motocross competitions as a teenager. He attended Nacogdoches High School, shortly thereafter worked as a Product Supervisor on offshore oil and gas production platforms and attended Angelina College.
Matt coped with mental health issues overcoming many obstacles in his life. While he was inspired by his family to be strong, he made just as big of an impact to those around him with his kind heart and perseverance. The love he had for his family, his hopes and dreams along for his compassion for the world around him is best expressed through the many poems that he wrote and we can now treasure in his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Andrew Kraemer of Center.
Many thanks to family, friends and neighbors for your love, support and prayers.
