What he loved most throughout his career as a pharmacist was serving the community of Nacogdoches by providing care, support, and education to anyone in need. He would volunteer during natural disasters, such as Katrina, to dispense medication to the victims. It was not unusual for him to go after hours to fill a prescription for someone. It was important to him to work hard and do the right thing for his customers.
Mike was so much more than a pharmacist. He loved to go duck hunting with his buddies and run for miles and miles. He ran marathons, half marathons, and many of the local races. He was a man of many hobbies as long as he was outside and active, like bee keeping, golf, tennis, and gardening. Mike also enjoyed spending time with family, and loved including them in his many activities.
