Oralia "Lorene" Rangel aka LaLa, age 84, of Caddo Mills, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Lorene was born October 25, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to parents Santos Romo and Thelma Glasgow Romo.
Lorene was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches before moving back to the Dallas area to be closer to her family. She was an active longtime member in the ICON church in Nacogdoches. As a dedicated servant to her Lord and Savior she would help in the Glory Gang ministry of ICON church. She wanted to help others anyway she could. Once allowing someone to live on her property so they could have a place to call their own. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, reading her bible, cooking, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ann Foster; brother, David Romo; daughter-in-law, Shannon Rangel; and grandson, Sunny Rangel
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Johnny G. Rangel; sons, Danny Rangel, Dennis Rangel and wife Donna, John Rangel, Demetruis Rangel and wife Vicky, Richard Rangel, and Anthony Rangel; and daughter, Mary Ann Drew and husband Burrell; sisters, Gloria Martinez, Frances Snider, and Josie Evans; brothers, Sam Romo, Sammy Romo, Bobby Romo, Richard Romo, and Ray Romo; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A visitation for Lorene will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Rangel, Coby Rangel, Simon Rangel, Jonathan Rangel, Coe Rangel and Darran Meldrum.
