Sally Westbrook went peacefully into God’s arms on May 22, 2023. She spent her final day, which also happened to be her 85th birthday, with a room full of grandkids and two renditions of “Happy Birthday”.
Sally was born in Appleby, TX in 1938 to Rual and Laura McBride and was one of eight siblings, Pat, Elmer, George, Jim, Bob, Mary and Hazel.
Sally married Harvey Westbrook in 1954 and went on to have 3 daughters and a son, Joyce, Judy, Irene and Harvey Lee.
Sally experienced tragedy and loss that most will never know yet maintained her faith, her generosity and an open door. Every one of us has our own stories of how grandma rescued us in time of need. She gave us a place to retreat when life was overwhelming, pushed many of us to finish our education and challenged us to grow up and work when it was time. She shared everything she ever had with all of us. We will always remember the biscuits and gravy and that coveted corner biscuit, the way she could turn any scrap of land into a lush and productive garden, her silly nature and how she loved to get swept up in laughter and her love for each of our children as they one by one increased her family.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband Harvey, her son Lee, daughter Irene, Irene’s husband, Lynne and grandchildren, Donnie Lynn,Joseph, Caren and Joey Westbrook.
She leaves behind more memories than we could ever share in the hearts of her surviving daughters, Judy Young and Joyce Davis and their respective husbands, Charles Young and Gary Davis. The grandchildren are numerous and Sally loved each one! She is survived by Jenny Davis and Gianfranco Caiazzo , Lisa Perez, Michael and Emily Davis, Michelle and Floyd Moore, Daniel and Bethany Griffith, Laura and Jerome Huey, Nicole Siebenhausen, honorary grandson Locke Siebenhausen, Christopher and Jenny Westbrook, Angel Westbrook and David Aldana and Sarah Westbrook.
Surviving great grandchildren include Leilani, Devon, Gary and Lianna Davis, Westin and Taylor Ross, Patrick and Shane Perez, Chelsea and Kinsley Westbrook, Shylee and Rylee Westbrook, Brayson “Broccoli” and Lilyana Aldana, Seth, Aiden and Adrianna Aldana, Ian Westbrook, Erik, Eron, Emli Mercer and Evie Rector, Jarett and Taylar Martinson, Kaitlyn, Carissa and Damon Griffith, Rayne, Brielle and Brooklyn Bassett, Emily Branch, Sarah, Ava and Gabriel Huey and Ivory Siebenhausen.
Surviving great great grandchildren include Everett and Ellythia Mercer, Kenyon Rector, Alayah Merrick and Jacob Barnett.
The family will receive friends, Saturday May 27, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
