Sara Ebbie Sanders

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Rev. Paul Sevar of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Family and guests are invited to visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, located on Lanana Street in Nacogdoches.

Pallbearers will be Chris Sanders, Warner Sanders, Taylor Sanders, Sean Sanders, Corey Sanders, and Michael Cunyos.

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roy, Erus, Bennie, and Buford; sisters, Lila Mae, Vera, Jewel, and Fay; a daughter, Leah Paul; and her loving husband of 59 years, John Paul Sanders Sr.

Ebbie is survived by her sons, John Paul Sanders Jr. and wife Rita, Freddie Sanders and wife Sherry, and Kenneth Sanders and wife Kitty; grandchildren, Sherri Cedotal and Husband Mike, Chris Sanders, Jenny Sanders, Mertie Sanders, Sean Sanders, Corey Sanders, and Stacy Sanders; great-grandchildren, Megean Noble, Chelsea Neal and Husband Josh, Angela Giles, Elizabeth Giles, Gracie Giles, Jeffrey Giles, and Peyton Cedotal; great-great-grandchildren, Jaycee Neal, Karlee Neal and Camille Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ebbie had a whirlwind romance, after graduating high school she met John Paul and they were happily married two months after meeting. Their marriage lasted 59 years until his passing in 2000. She loved to sew and make clothes as well as quilt and crochet blankets. She never backed down from a sewing challenge! In her free time she loved to read, and play dominoes, especially with their close knit neighbors in their community. She was a great cook. Ebbie was a good person that would do anything for you. She loved people and made friends wherever she went. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, She loved the Lord and taught her family to be one big “take care of each other family.” Her legacy will live on through the love of her family.
