Sherrie Renée Boenker went to sleep peacefully Sunday evening with her soulmate, in their home, her final resting place. Sherrie is survived by her husband and lifemate Gary, her beloved son and daughter-in-law Jason and Heather Boenker, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law Erna and Patricia Nimr, her dearest friends Melissa Laurent and Joan Bruckwicki, their families, and all who have been graced by her light. Sherrie was the best wife, mother, mother-in-law and friend. Her spirit will be fondly kindled in our hearts and actions forever as we strive to greet the world with her genuine kindness, resilient strength and joyous curiosity.
Sherrie was a doting mother and homemaker, as well as a long time property manager in this community for nearly fifty years. She went beyond doing her best to meet the needs of her renters, she took a genuine and loving interest in their lives. Sherrie devoted herself to her son Jason, lovingly known as Phrog, because to her family was of paramount importance.
Sherrie was a unique soul, a true guiding light to us all. She was the brightest and happiest part of what we knew of humanity, she touched the hearts of many people, she brought a smile to everyone she met. We hope to honor Sherrie with beautiful smiles and acts of kindness, by lending a hand to a stranger, in our acceptance of those who are different without having to understand why, when we rescue animals or humans in need, passionately admiring wildflowers, proceeding ever so gently so the next can do the same. She had a special talent for finding the best in everyone, if we do our best, we can, too.
Sherrie, everywhere we go you are a part of us. We remember your smile in each grain of sand and every drop of water. We hear the comfort of your voice upon the wind and feel your embrace when the sun caresses our face. We consider ourselves most fortunate to have you keeping an eye on us, gently guiding us in all ways, steering us on course for the good of all. We will bask in the warmth of the gift of your love forever and honor you with each step we take forward. We'll keep our sunny side up so you see us shine!
Please share your stories and photos of Sherrie! We will be having a celebration of life later this year.
